UNIS Parent Teacher Conference Chess Class
I am excited to announce that during the upcoming parent teacher conferences I will be offering chess classes for your children to attend while you visit teachers!
Chess is a great game, especially for children. Chess teaches important life skills such as:
patience, decision making, the consequences of actions, dealing with winning and losing and the list goes on. Not to mention, it’s fun, so join us Friday, November 10 and Monday, November 13 to learn more about the royal game!
There will be three available two hour long classes on both days
To keep the classes fun and educational for everyone in attendance, I am looking for students who are approximately the same level, and, to appeal to a wider audience of students, the classes will be taught for beginners. To be clear, I do not mean those who do not know the rules or how to play at all; rather, students who know the movements of the pieces and have played before, but are unfamiliar with strategy and would like to learn.
Also, as another measure to keep instructive value, it will be a smaller class with limited space available. Be one of the first to register, and don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns!
Looking forward to it,
(UNIS Chess Team and UNIS Chess Afterschool Program Coach)
